Iran Working on Fusion

Tehran, May 5, IRNA – Head Iran’s Nuclear Fusion Research Center reiterated here on Tuesday that the nuclear fusion science has been made indigenous in Iran today and achieving any objective in the field is possible now.

The Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi and a group of his deputies, IAEO managers and affiliated companies visited the latest achievements gained in the Plasma Physics and Nuclear Fusion Research School on Tuesday evening.

The visit was aimed at expansion of scientific and technological cooperation among the IAEO affiliated companies and research centers.

During the visit the head of the Plasma Physics and Nuclear Fusion Research School briefed the visitors on his research center’s history and on the nuclear fusion plan which has been successfully accomplished said that the expertise has been made quite indigenous in Iran today.

‘Getting access to the science and experience of managing macro-scale plans, training the required expert personnel, drawing the roadmap of the country’s fusion program, and acquiring high self-confidence have been the achievements of this project,’ he said.

Pointing out the threat of finishing the fossil fuels and the huge investments that the world powers have done to minimize the aftermaths of it, he said that making investments in nuclear fusion field is a vital issue and neglecting the issue will lead to the future generations’ blaming of our generation.
